CALLING FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE QUEENSLAND INDIGENOUS YOUTH LEADERSHIP
The Department of Communities in partnership with Glencore are calling for applications for the Queensland Indigenous Youth Leadership Program held
from 24 June to 30 June 2017 at Parliament House, Brisbane.
If you know an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslander aged
18 to 25 who shows leadership promise, then we encourage them to apply.
Forty participants from around Queensland will be selected to join this
program. The group will debate a Bill as members of the Eric Deeral
Indigenous Youth Parliament, meet Members of Parliament and take part in
workshops covering a variety of topics. The participants will also learn
from and work with Elders, mentors, representatives from government
departments and each other to develop their leadership skills and learn
about democratic processes.

The Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services – Office
for Youth, will work with successful applicants to arrange travel and
accommodation. Costs will be covered by the department for meals,
accommodation and transport associated with the program.
